Despite the recent relaxation of bilateral rules covering flights to India, flights to Goa are still generally only available through charter airlines.

It is possible to pick up cheap tickets that have remained unsold on charter flights but they tend to be few and far between.

In general the charter flights will only be available to you as part of a package deal.

If you want to be free of the package deal, then you will need to fly into an alternative Indian city and travel onward by internal flight, road or rail.

The Goa International Airport is located at Dabolim, midway between the city of Vasco da Gama approximately 4 km (2 miles) away, and Dabolim town. The state capital Panaji is approximately 30km (19 miles) distance to the north of the airport.
